Iram oversees Aangan’s programmatic work with Police systems with the goal of strengthening Policing systems to increase Girl Safety, with a focus on safety in public places, preventing and responding to sexual violence and abuse, and preventing child marriage. Iram has more than 15 years of experience in the social development sector. She holds a degree in Social Work and a diploma in Journalism. She has experience working with various sectors, from reproductive and child health to the right to education, policy research, and advocacy on peacebuilding resolutions at an international level.
She started her career as a young peacebuilder and has participated in many training sessions, lobbying efforts, and advocacy missions in over 15 countries. She has worked on several research and capacity-building assignments, partnership management, strengthening systems, and operationalizing programs aimed at enabling community participation in different stages of development projects.
